| :: Biography :: |
It is hard to believe that Cameron's first movie role was playing the female lead in the hilarious Jim Carrey triumph The Mask. She did an excellent job, and came as a surprise to everyone who saw the movie. People were without a doubt looking around and asking each other; "who is she and where did she come from?" The truth is, Cameron Diaz started out as a model who left home to live in Japan when she landed a contract with the Elite Modeling Agency. Soon she was modeling all over the world, from Mexico to Australia, from Paris to Morocco, she continued building her modeling career and earning a great living. Cameron started to appear in different advertisements. She appeared in ads for Calvin Klein, Coca-Cola, and Levi's.
Soon though, Cameron decided that modeling was not enough for her. She decided to move on to acting. After auditioning for The Mask, she got the role. The movie proved to be a success, but after making her mark Cameron decided to take on some independent film roles in such movies as Fleeting Minnesota, She's the One, and others. Her next big role came when she appeared alongside Jennifer Aniston in the romantic comedy titled My Best Friend's Wedding. After also starring in A Life Less Ordinary (with Ewan McGreggor), Cameron landed the part that would be her biggest hit to-date; There's Something About Mary, one of summer's biggest grossing movies.
It is safe to say that the future looks bright for Cameron Diaz. It will be hilarious to see her in the upcoming Being John Malkovic. The fact is, Cameron Diaz is a serious actress with vast potential, and she will continue to light up the screen.
